North Carolina State is a respected University specializing in engineering, business, and biological and agricultural sciences. In 2020, it was ranked #1 for North Carolina public universities, and #30 for public institutions worldwide.

The waste container is located at Sullivan Shops III on NCSU’s Central Campus. This building is used by faculty, and it is home to the offices of Grounds Management and Waste Reduction and Recycling.

This installation marked the beginning of the second pilot program for MyMatR, and is the next step in testing and data collection for the automatic sorting unit.
